First post: The 7 Deadly Beauty Sins Tag

What better way to write the first blog post than filling out random beauty tag? Kidding. I am never good with first anything. First day at school, first day at work, you name it. So, to keep myself from the awkwardness of first blog post, I'm going to do this pretty fun tag I got from Make up and Macaroons. I stumbled upon this lovely blog when I was searching for Make Up For Ever HD Foundation. My cousin recommended me (the foundation) during my visit to Jakarta a couple of months back. Unfortunately, I just bought the Lunasol Water Gel foundation therefore I cannot find a reason to justify getting another liquid foundation. However, I somehow could not take it off my mind and here I am in the middle of the night stalking reviews of that foundation online, while actually I was supposed to do a research of something more important (more on that later).

OK, I was rambling. So here goes the tag. Sorry, no picture, I'm blogging using my ipad and it is a bitch to get used to the tap-typing hybrid but I will update this post with pictures later on once I have access to my computer.

1. GREED: What is your most inexpensive beauty item? What is your most expensive?
First of all, I'm not really sure about my most inexpensive beauty item. I went through a phase where I bought truckloads of great and extremely affordable Japanese make-ups. I think my cheapest beauty buy would be eyelid stickers. For those who don't know, eyelid sticker is a thinly cut scotch-tape-like material that you stick it on your eye lid to create higher crease on your lids. It is widely used by Asian women, especially those who have monolids, to make their eyes look bigger. I bought this non-descript brand of eyelid stickers for S$2.30 at Sasa, Singapore.
The most expensive beauty stuff I have ever bought was Creme de La Mer. It retailed for AU$300 here in Australia if I remember it well. I bought it during winter 3 years ago when my skin was super dry, sensitive, and flaking like mad and no moisturizer (I tried heaps, trust me) could save me. So, I decided to take the plunge and part with my 300 bucks to take that little jar of cream home. Dissappointingly, that so-called 'miracle cream' did not solve the dryness of my skin.

2. WRATH: What beauty product do you have love/hate relationship with? What product has been the hardest to get?
Liquid foundation. There's no other product I can think of that I have love/hate relationship with. I LOVE how flawless and dewy my skin look everytime I have them on, but I hate how they always give me clogged pores, oily face or lack of staying power. Also, it takes more time to apply and blend so most of the time I prefer using powder foundation.

The hardest to get for me would be SK-II Cellumination Essence. I wanted it when it first came out. Although it was available in David Jones, I refused to pay the ridiculously exorbitant retail price here in Australia. Instead, I tried ordering it online from Sasa, but they are always out of stock. So I obsessively checked their site everyday for almost a month and snatched one once they were in stock.

3. GLUTTONY: What is your most delicious beauty product?
Oatmeal! I wash my face with oatmeal every few days or whenever I feel that my skin looks dull and sluggish. It does wonder to my clogged pores and redness and even fades my acne scars.

4. SLOTH: What beauty product do you neglect due to laziness?
Masks, I can't think of anything else. I have become more dilligent lately, though, but still, setting aside an extra 20 minutes before my bedtime is a pain in the ass.

5. PRIDE: What beauty product gives you the most self confidence?
It might be weird, but, for me it is brow powder or pencil. I always feel that my brows are too thin and not defined enough, so, even on the days when I don't wear much make up, I always put on brow powder. Eyebrows frame our face, therefore well-defined brows are essential to look polished.

6. LUST: What attributes do you find most attractive in the opposite sex?
I can't emphasize enough on how I ADORE men who wear make-up and take care of their skin. Most guys just don't get it. Looking rugged and all macho is so passe.

See how gorgeous Adam Lambert looked in the picture above. I have a thing for eyeliners on men. Think Captain Jack Sparrow. I think the same rule applies to men as it does for women, apply your make up according to your facial features. I agree that not all men can pull it off, but again, it all depends on how they apply it. My point is, men should not shy away from make-up. A little bit of concealer to cover pimple marks or dark under-eye is totally OK. Topped with subtly applied eyeliner or dark eyeshadow, a coat of mascara, neatly trimmed brows and face powder. That's it. You don't need to go over the top with your make-up.

7. ENVY: What item do you most like to receive as a gift?
At the moment, it is Annick Goutal Petite Cherie Eau de Perfume. I came across this perfume last Christmas. It smells sweet yet so fresh, the kind of scent that it is OK to spray just a little too much. What holds me back from purchasing it was my boyfriend saying the perfume smells the same as any Garnier/Pantene shampoo, why spend so much money on mediocre smell that you can get from Coles. Grrr.

That's it guys. All images are randomly sourced from the internet. I am so so so sorry for not uploading my own image. The thing is my camera is still at my friend's and my phone camera sucks, so I couldn't take decent pictures.

I am tagging all of you who happen to stumble upon this blog. So, til the next post.
